Serially produced from 1963 to 1989 Arzamas Engineering Works (as well as under license in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia). BRDM-2 has a low sheltered, armor protection against small arms bullets and shrapnel. The main feature of the machine – very high permeability. Besides the main-wheel drive chassis with adjustable pressure in the tires, in the middle of the body, there are special additional retractable wheels, allowing, in particular, to overcome significant ditches, trenches. At present, to some extent used in the intelligence unit of more than 50 countries. In the army has the nickname “Mess”. In the USSR, production is completed in November 1989. Production continues under license in Poland.

About kit:

It going very simple, like any kit of trumpeter. The only addition is AKMS and handles made with wire of different thicknesses.

Painting:

Camouflage is made using adhesive pads “patafiks”. The model as always was painted with acrylic paint, and pigments from AMMO “Mig”.

I was wondering where you sourced your AKMS from, I am painting and researching models for wargaming the Bush War in Rhodesia at the moment and AK-47’s and variants, SKS’s, FN FALs etc. which are not on soldiers would be quite useful.
