Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 fighter and interceptor aircraft, introduced in mid 50s and one of the most successful ever Soviet aircraft designs. As per 2022 they remain operative in several countries.

Original Matchbox kit tooled in 1973 and released again in 1974 and 1982 with changed in box layout and minor changes in the box art but always the same content and a decal sheet with two markings, one Soviet and one Czechoslovak.

During that period, it was also released under Matchbox-AMT, but in 1983 the moulds were upgraded with new parts and kit was transformed into Matchbox – PK-41 (40041) – Mikoyan MiG-21 MF.

The new variant corrected several flaws of this kit, so it’s more recommendable to go with the later releases PK-41 (40041) or 40054.
