Lockheed Starfighter F-104G

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, an interceptor and fighter-bomber aircraft of the 60s, later improved to an all-weather multi-role fighter widely exported outside the U.S. Some operators kept them flying till early 2000s.

F-104G was the most produced version of the family, a multi-role fighter-bomber with over 1000 units produced.

In opposition to those we say were stable kits in the Matchbox catalogue, the Starfighter F-104 was subject of several changes during its life. Tooled in 1975, originally named just Starfighter, had three different box arts till 1986, when the PK-28 F-104G was replaced by the PK-40 TF-104G which included new parts.

The original decals were also replaced in 1980.

The original release in the 70s included two markings, one German and one Canadian. The update in the 80s kept the German marking but replaced the Canadian marking by one U.S. marking.
