Description:

Hermann Marwede

This is the first and original tool of the Hermann Marwede Revell kit released in 2005. The kit is a big kit with over 300 parts, it also includes the daughter boat Verena (the first type, before 2012). Once replaced, the Verena was renamed Walter Rose and serves as stand alone rescue ship, being also released by Revell as Revell – 05214 – Rescue Boat WALTER ROSE / VERENA, and is an excellent little kit. For those looking the newer Verena Revell also offers it as Revell – 05228 – Search & Rescue Daughter-Boat VERENA, in case some one was to upgrade an early Hermann Marwede kit.

The kit is an excellent kit but with some noticeable simplifications as the crane is. Fit of several parts is not easy, and the over 300 parts count make this kit not recommendable for beginners.

We wrote a bit about the German Search and Rescue kits available from Revell in the short article Revell SAR (Search And Rescue) Series.

The set was upgraded with the newer daughter boat Verena in 2015,  Revell – 05220 – Search & Rescue Vessel Hermann Marwede, and definitive package even up detailed with PE parts was released in 2021 as Revell – 05198 – Search & Rescue Vessel HERMANN MARWEDE (Platinum Edition).
