Description:

Centaur Mk.IV British Tank

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British A27L Cromwell II (Centaur) WWII tank , in a close support version (Mk.IV) fitted with a Ordnance QF 95 mm howitzer.

Although both Cromwell and Centaur were visually very similar, they had important differences in the design and production. Most of the Centaurs were only used for training purposes, and only the Mk.Iv Close Support (CS) version was used in combat.

Kit contains PE detail parts. Includes decal sheet with 6 different markings, 4 from the Royal Marines Armoured Support Group, technically the only unit receiving the Centaurs and bringing them into combat during Normandy Invasion. The group was disbanded just two weeks after D-Day (D+14) and their troops re-allocated. The last two markings belongs to 6th Airborne Reconnaissance Regiment, RAC, dated August 1944 (left over from the disbanded Royal Marines Armoured Support Regiments).
