Description:

Waterloo French Artillery

The French artillery set was tooled just one year before (some sources stated it was tooled in 1969 rather than 1971) the British Horse Artillery, but the only coincidence between them is they both are intended for the Napoleonic Wars, with Waterloo battle in mind.

The style of these figures is the same seen on the Napoleonic infantry sets as well as the American War of Independence ones, and too our eyes, it’s not good. To worsen things, both the gun and the “limber” included are too much simplified.

The French set included 3 guns and 25 figures in 7 poses, though one of them, repeated 8 times, is just an infantry men marching. Together with the guns there are three limbers with a horse team of just two horses each, in two poses.

The set remained in catalogue till 1996 and usually was included also in the Waterloo playsets.
