Krupp “Forel”
Imperial Russian Navy submarine

Designed in Germany, as a private venture of Krupp, the Forel was a midget submarine and the first submarine built in Germany. It didn’t attract attention from the Imperial German Navy but was purchased by the Imperial Russian Navy, entering service in 1904 till 1910, lost in an accident. Although crew escaped from accident and ship was recovered, it never was repaired, as at the time, was already relegated to training tasks and considered obsolete.

Deployed from Vladivostok base, to where arrived in train, took part in the Russo-Japanese but didn’t saw combat.

Kit includes decal sheet for the single submarine of its class and includes a very small PE detail sheet.
