Messerschmitt Bf 110

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII Messerschmitt Bf 110 which played different roles such night fighter, heavy fighter or fighter bomber and was produced in over 6000 units due its performance and versatility.

Matchbox kit tooled in 1976, released several times with small changes always used the same plane as main part of the box art and kit always had the same decal sheet with two German markings dated 1940 and 1941. The original box art, as several others in the Matchbox range, initially showed the Nazi swastika in the plane tail, which was removed in 1979 not used anymore in future box changes till 1991 when the kit was released by last time.

Despite the importance of this aircraft during WWII, it never got too much attention in 1/72 scale, and for beginners, a Matchbox kit may still be an option of an easy to build kit, very simplified and with some accuracy problems but enjoyable.
