Description:

Albatros D.III

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German World War One fighter aircraft, Albatros D.III.

The origins of this kit goes back to a Japanese company named Marusan in the late 60s. ESCI released the same kit with new decals in 1982, and later Ertl and ESCI-Ertl also had this little kit in their catalogues till 90s. Also was released in an ESCI combo box with 6 WWI planes, named Red Baron Flying Circus, with code number 9025.

This is a basic kit, consists of only around 20 parts, included one single marking and only has been seen one time by any other maker after ESCI, Italeri reused this kit when in 2015 released Italeri – 1374 – S.E.5a / ALBATROS D.III (both are ESCI kits, also the S.E.5a).

The kit is not considered as a very good kit, the Albatros D.III in 1/72 scale got an excellent coverage by Roden and those are the best kits for this topic available at the time of write this.
