Description:
Grumman F-14 A Tomcat
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Grumman F-14 Tomcat interceptor, air superiority and multi-role fighter aircraft introduced in 1974 and retired from the U.S. service in 2006, but remains in service with the Iranian Air Force.
F-14A was the initial two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather interceptor fighter variant for the U.S. Navy, from wich Iran received 79 units.
Original Matchbox kit tooled in 1975, released again in 1983 and 1992, with a new box art and box layout but we have been unable to find a decent image of this release that we could use.
Kit always kept the same decal sheet with 3 markings, U.S. Navy, dated 1973 and 1975.
It was also released under AMT-Matchbox and by Alanger in the 2000s.
