Description:

Supermarine Stranraer

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British WWII Supermarine Stranraer, a twin-engined flying boat produced in limited numbers and used by both RAF and RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) as maritime reconnaissance/patrol and anti submarine roles.

After WWII many of the surviving aircrafts were operated by civilian companies as regional airlines operating till late 50s.

Matchbox tooled this interesting aircraft in 1978 and kept in catalogue till 1983. Revell released the same kit with new decals in year 2012 as code number 04277.

The original Matchbox kit included a decal sheet with three RAF markings, dated 1938, 1939 and 1941. As per today, remains as the only option in 1/72 scale for this aircraft. (Initially instructions sheet used code number PK-551, later used by Matchbox – PK-551 (40551) – Handley Page Victor K2)
