Description:

Grumman Martlet Mk.I/G-36

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Grumman F4F Wildcat U.S. WWII fighter aircraft, introduced in late 1940 by the U.S. Navy, which also saw service with other Allies, as was know as Martlet by the British Royal Navy where it saw service.

According to our sources, all the aircrafts designated as Martlet Mk.I were G-26A type, with non foldable wings, and fitted with a single stage supercharged engine, instead of the two stages original of the G-36 U.S. type, which originally were a French order and another batch by Belgium that England took once these countries were occupied. Designation used by AZ Model as G-36 is confusing and ambiguous.

Kit includes decal sheet with 3 markings, one of them belongs to an aircraft currently in display at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. There is an original French Navy marking plus a Royal Navy Air Service marking.
