For the fans of the “what-if”, cancelled projects, unusual topics and space, AMP will release this month the interesting AMP – 72016 – Boeing X-20 Dyna-Soar which was a very advanced concept in its time, but never realized.

Arma Hobby will be re-stocking soon (this month) Arma Hobby – 70012 – Fokker E.V (Expert Set), that hopefully will down prices a bit.

AccsGB puts on sale not one, but three, kits for the de Havilland DH 112 Venom, AccsGB – 72610 – DH-112 Venom Mk.4 Royal Air Force, AccsGB – 72620 – DH-112 Venom Mk.4 Suez Crisis and AccsGB – 72630 – DH-112 Venom Mk.4 Foreign Use. Our only criticism would be the Swiss marking (the only in the foreign users box), a museum marking, for a type which also was flew by Iraq, Italy, Sweden or New Zealand.

And while doing this, RS Models announced two new kits RS Models – 92271 – Arado Ar 199 “Early Version” and RS Models – 92272 – Arado Ar 199 “Late Version”. The brand also announced that soon there will be more novelties, so stay tuned. Also it worth it to mention that according to our records, it’s the first time the Arado Ar 199 is tooled for plastic injection in 1/72 scale. Till now only resin kits were done (Including by RS Models years ago).

2022/02/26

The past year announced newly tooled Revell – 03841 – F-15E Strike Eagle may be closer to arrive, let’s hope current situation doesn’t delay it again. The new F-15 replaces both old Revell and Monogram moulds with origins in the 70s. The last time Revell released an F-15 in the early 2000s, was a Hasegawa rebox.

2022/02/04

2022/02/11

Waltersons announced this week two new model for the Forces of Valor range, Waltersons – 55016 – M4A1(76) Sherman Belgium April 1942 and Waltersons – 55015 – Russian KV-1 Cast turret 1942 (Forces of Valor) based on the previous KV-2 and M4A1 kits. We took this opportunity to rework all the Forces of Valor kits, and the category for Waltersons itself will be removed soon to avoid duplicity of the same kits. The Forces of Valor page now contains both old and new box layouts, code numbers as well as Waltersons alone box layouts. The previously announced Waltersons – FOV-873015A (873015) – JGSDF Type 16 MCV (Forces of Valor) is still missing, we are not sure if brand will release it ever. Looks like brand is not having a great production/distribution, some of the old references from Unimax times, are not very easy to find, and sadly, these kits are no longer so cheap as they used to be, which was one of their big points. Anyway, is a good news that brand keep alives the range, and for second year new models have been announced to be added to this interesting range, which is recommendable for beginners, as well as some more experienced modellers, with an average 50-60 parts per kit.

2022/02/12

Added sprue parts images to the coming Trumpeter – 07158 – M983 HEMTT & M901 Launching Station w/MIM-104 Patriot SAM System (PAC-2). (We expect it will be bit delayed because the Chinese New Year celebrations).

UniModels (UM) will be releasing soon two new models, based on previous develops from the brand, UM – 487 – Tank hunter Hetzer L/70 and UM – 550 – Sturmgeschütz IV (Sd.Kfz.167). We have little details about them, in terms of markings or number of parts. Hopefully we’ll update them soon. Not far from this two additions, the brand will be releasing another Pz. IV ausf. G, code 546. We’ll add it to our listings soon.

2022/02/23

Flyhawk will be releasing a second Tiger II kit, using the early Krupp turret, Flyhawk – FH3020 – Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.B Königstiger Original Turret Version. Some China based sellers are already offering the kit.

1/72 Sci-Fi, Anime and Star Wars

2022/02/07

Today we have added an oldie, MPC – 1-1928 – Jabba The Hutt Throne Room (1/63 scale), initially released in 1983, and later re-issued under AMT/ERTL brand in the 90s. Star Wars is the only category where we list kits not strictly in 1/72 (or 1/76) scale, due two main factors, the large list of strange scales used for Star Wars kits, close to standard scales but none, and second that we are fans of the galactic saga and we like those kits.

2022/02/08

Recovered today another Star Wars proxy to 1/72 scale kit, time today for the easy kit Revell – 03608 – ARC-170 Clone Fighter (1/83 scale).

And one more proxy today, the 1/63 scale MPC – MPC948 – X-WING FIGHTER (1/63 Scale). Round2Corp is doing a great job bringing back classic AMT and MPC kits, and maybe this will not be the only Star Wars classic kit returning. MPC re-released this kit past year, 2021.

2022/02/09

While writing yesterday about the MPC X-Wing, we found MPC (Round2Corp) is about to re-release this year MPC – MPC951 – BOBA FETT’S STARFIGHTER (1/85 scale). The kit is expected for March (U.S. Market).

It’s still expected that Round2Corp will release the Razor Crest in 1/72 scale, as well as restore the MPC 1/78 Millenium Falcom kit.

1/72 Ships

2022/02/07

Added high resolution images of the finished model provided by the brand for the coming Fore Hobby – 1003 – Schnellboot S-38b. If you still was not convinced about this model take a look to these pictures.

1/72 Miscellaneous

2022/02/08

ICM shared yesterday their 2022 catalogue. You can find it here (PDF Format):

While 1/72 scale is obviously not the main develop line of the company, at least is not totally forgotten and two 100% new moulds kits will be produced in the Aircraft line. According to this catalogue the brand will do 8 new releases in 1/72 scale. Remember than two of them are already scheduled for next weeks, ICM – DS7202 – Over all of Spain, the sky is clear and ICM – 72473 – Type G4 Partisanenwagen with MG 34

2022/02/13

Apologies to all our Canadian customers, a technical mistake was preventing site to show proper results to Canadian visitors. The problem has been fixed today and service to our Canadian readers is paired now with any of the other countries we work for.

2022/02/24

Today, in a difficult decision, but according to our conscience, we are removing any entry from Russian Federation sellers in the marketplace sections of the kits. We can’t remove all of them at once because our cache systems, but no new results will be introduced and existing entries from Russian sellers will be removed as long as caches clean.

We are hobby site, not political, but our conscience tell us this is the right thing to do today, and this ban will be keep for an undetermined time according to how events evolve. As fans of history and military history, we think that we have enough material with the wars happened in the past, there is no need for a new war anywhere.

2022/02/25

In an extension of our yesterday decision, Russian Federation brands such Zvezda, Strelets or Eastern Express and the Belarus Zebrano, are out of the site till new order. Ukraine invasion is just something intolerable and a single Russian Federation interest can be hold here. We are working actively to remove all this entries as well as extend to Belarus the ban of Ebay sellers that we show.

1/72 Playsets

2022/02/11

Zvezda puts in the pipeline two new model sets which are great deals if you can get them at a decent price. They are Zvezda – 5205 – Air Combat WWII Battle Set (7 models) and Zvezda – 5204 – Tank Hunting WWII Battle Set (8 models). Details are not full clear yet, but German retailers are already offering these deals.

2022/02/13

Corrected an error in the Zvezda – 5204 – Tank Hunting WWII Battle Set which contains the Zvezda – 5044 – Soviet Tank Destroyer SU-100 instead of the Zvezda – 5043 – Soviet Self-Propelled Gun SU-122 as we said before.
