Revell SAR (Search And Rescue) Series.

Revell announced this week a new launch in their SAR series, well, it’s not new, but an interesting re-package of the Berlin vessel plus a Sea King helicopter in SAR mission. Both kits previously released by the brand during years.
Introducing the new kit in our listings, we also want to take a look to the previously issued SAR kits.

The Berlin “class” was also issued by Revell as the “Arkona” in 1999, as code 05226. All of them were originally released in 1988, code number 5226, Search and Rescue Cruiser Berlin. Both of them, have been also added to our listings for collectors and nostalgic.

The DGzRS has 3 ships of the 27,5m class.

HERMANN MARWEDE , 46m class Rescue Cruiser.

The father of all the SAR family, the biggest ship issued to the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service, the high seas rescue cruiser HERMANN MARWEDE.

Originally released in 2005, code 05238.

Later in 2015, Hermann Marwede was released again as code 05220, including new parts. Revell – 05220 – Search & Rescue Vessel Hermann Marwede

With its impressive 46 meters, it’s the only ship of its class in the DGzRS fleet.

Hermann Marwede Daughter’s Boats.

And by the end, the succession of Hermann Marwede daughter’s ships, all named as “Verena”.

In 2012, this daughter boat was replaced, and started an stand alone service, renamed as Walter Rose.

The DGzRS fleet has 31 boats of it’s class, 9.41 / 10.1 meters.

In 2021, Revell adds a new premium (platinum) edition of the the Hermann Marwede cruiser, with photo-etched and metal detail parts in large number.
