1/72 S-Model – 720023 – Syrian BRDM-2

Some history.

BRDM-2 (armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicle – 2) is a further development of the BRDM-1. Serially produced from 1963 to 1989 Arzamas Engineering Works (as well as under license in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia). BRDM-2 has a low sheltered, armor protection against small arms bullets and shrapnel. The main feature of the machine – very high permeability. Besides the main-wheel drive chassis with adjustable pressure in the tires, in the middle of the body, there are special additional retractable wheels, allowing, in particular, to overcome significant ditches, trenches. At present, to some extent used in the intelligence unit of more than 50 countries. In the army has the nickname “Mess”. In the USSR, production is completed in November 1989. Production continues under license in Poland.

About kit:

It going very simple, like any kit of trumpeter. The only addition is AKMS and handles made with wire of different thicknesses.

Painting:

Camouflage is made using adhesive pads “patafiks”. The model as always was painted with acrylic paint, and pigments from AMMO “Mig”.

1/72 Trumpeter – 07267 – BTR-80A hungarian KFOR

Some history:

The BTR-80 (Russian: бронетранспортер, BTR stands for bronyetransportyer, literally meaning “armoured transporter”) is an 8×8 wheeled amphibious armoured personnel carrier (APC) designed in the USSR. Adopted in 1986 and replaced the previous versions, BTR-60 and BTR-70 in the Soviet Army. It was first deployed during Soviet War in Afghanistan .

BTR-80A (GAZ-59034) – IFV with 30 mm gun 2A72 and 300 rounds as primary weapon. The turret is called BPPU and is equipped with sights 1PZ-9 (day) and TPN-3 or TPN-3-42 “Kristall” (night). In production and service since 1994.

About kit:

It going very simple, like any kit of trumpeter. The addition of a turret with a 30mm gun, from “Armory”.  Additional handles have been made with wire of different thicknesses.

Painting:

Camouflage is made using adhesive pads “patafiks”.  The model as always was painted with acrylic paint, and pigments from AMMO “Mig”.

1/72 – T-90MS – Model Collect – 72010

About tank

T-90MS “Vladimir” – Russian tank, created on the basis of previous versions: T-90A and T-90S. [1] The weight of the tank 48 tons, length 9530 mm, width 3780 mm, height 2228 mm. Engine – multifuel diesel V12 B-92S2F2 power 1130l.s., Automatic transmission. The maximum speed on the road 65 km / h on the highway cruising range of 500 km.

About kit.

It going very simple, like any kit of Modelcollect. Vinyl tracks of good quality.

In this set, there are a couple of not very pleasant moments. I’d love to have a metall barrel. And anti cumulative grating is very thick.

A model is slightly different from the real tank. Exactly the same tank as a model I could not find.

Painting.
Camouflage of this machine is not standard. Camo is fictional, since the tank is not accepted for service, and I did not want to do the the Indian version. The model as always was painted with acrylic paint, tinted oil paints and MIG pigments.

Painting in the tri-color camouflage on the example of the T-90MS. (with modulation)

Not so long ago on facebook I promised to show you in more detail how to paint a model in scale 72 in the tri-color camouflage. To make it more interesting, I used the color modulation technique.
