Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Basler BT-67 utility aircraft.

The Basler BT-67, crafted by Basler Turbo Conversions located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, stands as a utility aircraft renowned for its unique approach. Essentially, it is a remanufactured and enhanced version of the Douglas C-47 (DC-3), with meticulous modifications aimed at significantly prolonging the serviceable life of the original DC-3.

Founded in 1990, Basler Turbo Conversions dedicated itself exclusively to the transformation of existing C-47 airframes into the BT-67 model. Each new build undergoes custom configuration to precisely meet the client’s specifications. The versatile applications of the BT-67 span across industries such as cargo, military, cloud seeding, scientific research, and various others. The conversion process entails fitting the airframe with new Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67R turboprop engines, elongating the fuselage, reinforcing the airframe, upgrading the avionics, and implementing adjustments to the wing leading edges and wingtips.

At least 68 old DC-3 has been remanufactured as Basler BT-67.

Newly tooled kit tooled in 2024, kit consists of around 170 parts, include paint mask and decal sheet with 3 markings, one from US Forest Service (Firefighter) and two civilian markings, one for Kenn Borek Air, an airline based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada who operates regional passenger and cargo services, contract operations in the Arctic and Antarctic and aircraft leasing, and one for Theia Aviation.
