Hasegawa’s updated 1/72 scale kit brings the dynamic VF-19EF/A “Isamu Special” Battroid from Macross Frontier: The Wings of Farewell to life in stunning detail. This version of the VF-19 pays homage to legendary pilot Isamu Dyson, originally from Macross Plus, who returns in Frontier as part of the private military company S.M.S. The VF-19EF/A is a modernized evolution of the YF-19 prototype, adapted for frontline service with enhanced performance and agility. Its Battroid form reflects the same aggressive, high-speed character seen in its fighter mode, with design supervision by series creator Shoji Kawamori, ensuring faithful proportions and mechanical realism.

This kit features several newly tooled parts, including deployed main wings, shoulder missile pods, and mounting attachments for the wing-mounted Super Parts—the latter borrowed from the VF-25 fighter kit. The main kit assembles without glue, using polycaps for full articulation across the joints, while the Super Parts require adhesive. Molded in seven different colors, the parts are designed to closely match the onscreen color scheme even without paint. Armaments include the iconic Gunpod and a Pinpoint Barrier Punch effect part in clear green plastic, adding a dramatic flair to display poses. A clear display stand with gray support components is also included. The box art, created by MERCY RABBIT, completes the package for fans eager to recreate this high-speed hero mecha from the Macross universe.
