Airfix – A03380 – RAF Control Tower

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale depicting a common design of a control tower seen on many Allied bases in the UK during the WWII.

This is an old original Airfix kit tooled in 1959, and released without changes till 2012, haven’t seen since then.

The kit has a basic set up, the main bulk of the building is constructed with seven parts and then there are around 45 parts to detail the building, including window’s frame, doors, stairs, some poles and few details more. There isn’t too much inner detail. Kit include also 3 hard plastic figures.

Being a so old kit and so long not re-released, prices are usually high, for collectors rather than modelers, which is a pity since the kit still offers opportunities to use as display for the many British or U.S. WWII aircraft models developed in the hobby.
