“French Racer Plane”
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Bugatti Model 100, a race plane conceived for Deutsch de la Meurthe Cup Race 1939. The single prototype was not built on time (never completed) and put on storage. The WWII outbreak avoided project completion but it was keep safe and eventually was restored for display in 1971. A flying “replica” was built during 2000s, killing its pilot in its third test flight, which entirely meant the end of the project.
The plane had an unusual design with a twin engine arrangement driving forward-mounted contra-rotating propellers and a 120º v-tail.
Kit includes resin parts and decal sheet for two markings.
