Waterloo 1815 – AP003 – WWII Japanese 70 mm Gun & antitank crew

Description:

Box contains 16 Figures in 8 poses, including 2 x 70mm guns.

Strictly for the gun crew, we found 2 figures, one with a shell, but the officer standing up with binoculars can be attached to a gun too, though would have been better have him in a less exposed pose. In the rest of figures, you can find some other interesting weapons, as a man firing a 20mm Type 97 anti-tank rifle, with a loader and another officer with binoculars, all in prone position, making a nice team. There is also a man firing a grenade from his rifle, a feature not often used in WWII, but still used by the Japanese army, and lastly a man with an antitank mine, that large pole with a (explosive) cone in the end. This device detonate on impact, mostly killing the man carrying it. The 70mm gun was a dual purpose light gun, acting both as infantry support gun or anti-tank and is quite nicely done here, simplified into just 5 parts that fit together well.

Detail and sculpture of the figures is top class.
