The CKM wz.30 was a Polish heavy machine gun developed in the early 1930s, based on the American Browning M1917 design.

The CKM wz.30 was a water-cooled, belt-fed, recoil-operated machine gun chambered in 7.92×57mm Mauser, the standard rifle cartridge of the Polish Army. Its high rate of fire, reliability, and effective range made it suitable for a wide range of roles: infantry support, anti-aircraft, and fortification defense. Polish engineers made several modifications to the original Browning design, including changes to the feed mechanism and some improvements to barrel and cooling efficiency.

One notable feature of the CKM wz.30 was its tripod mount, which was robust and adjustable, allowing for both horizontal and vertical traverse, as well as elevation changes. This made the weapon suitable for anti-aircraft use in a pinch and gave it more flexibility than the original Browning M1917’s mount. Some versions were also adapted with optical sights or armored shields for use in defensive positions or bunkers.
