LINEAR-A – 088 – BACCHANALIA IN ANCIENT ROME SET 1

Description:

Unpainted figures in 1/72 scale of a Roman Era adult subject, the Bacchanalia refers to unofficial Roman festivals dedicated to Bacchus, funded privately and inspired by ecstatic elements of the Greek Dionysia. These celebrations were likely linked to Rome’s indigenous cult of Liber and likely made their way to Rome around 200 BC. Similar to other mystery religions in the ancient world, the details of their rites remain largely mysterious. Nevertheless, these festivals appeared to be widespread and well-coordinated across the central and southern regions of the Italian peninsula.

The sexual conception of these rituals/festivales come from Titus Livius (Livy) 59 BC – AD 17, a roman historian who wrote one of the most important ancient history of Rome. He wrote from the earliest legends of Rome before the traditional founding in 753 BC, through the reign of Augustus in Livy’s own lifetime and nowadays many of his assertions about the earlier times are considered as rumors and speculations, though in many cases there is no other evidence to say he was wrong.

Box contains 40 figures in 10 different poses, containing nudity and explicit sexual behaviors. This box has been produced using 3D technology, at least for the master pieces, but despite the capabilities of this technology, everything has been produced in a 4x format, which is again, one more time, too much repetition of the poses and subjects. The box basically split figures into six groups, of those 4 groups are performing explicit sexual acts, and the other two figures (one woman and one men), though nude, are not having sex. Into the groups having sex there is a single lady using a dildo, two groups of two figures, man and woman, having sex in two different positions and lastly a group of two men and one woman also having sex.
