Ultima Ratio – UR022 – Burgundian Foot Soldiers, 100 Years War

Description:

Unpainted plastic soldiers in 1/72 scale depicting Burgundian soldiers during the XV century. During the 100 Years War Burgundian fought in the last phase of the war in both sides, but ultimately their defection from the English side was decisive to incline the balance in favor of the French forces. The set can reinforce both armies depending of the battle you want to depict.

The box contains just 27 figures in 9 different poses in a 3x equal sprue format. Each sprue just include 8 main bodies, but there are several separate parts such weapons and arms, thus allowing the 9 poses with 8 bodies using the standard bearer as wildcard body, able to carry the banner or a pole arm.

The number of poses and figures is bit short to create a serious contingent of Burgundian soldiers, but figures are nicely sculpted with a nice detail. The poses include one officer (you get 3 of them) and an impressive standard bearer with a long and sculpted with relief banner, you also get 3 of this but a different separate arm is provided allowing this figure to be a standard bearer or not.

Red Box produced a nice trilogy devoted to Burgundian soldiers during the XV century, this set is a nice complement to complete and extend the ranks of the range.

Ultima Ratio has released several other “medieval” sets, but this is the first one specifically entitled as Hundred Years War, released in 2024.
