E7K1 “Alf” in Camouflage

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Japanese 30s Kawanishi E7K, a three-seat reconnaissance seaplane nicknamed “ALF” by the Allies. The type produced in two variants, E7K2 and E7K1 was extensively used by Japanese Imperial Navy from 1938 till 1943 (E7K2 variant) and again later in the war in Kamikaze missions.

Kit include parts for E7K1 variant, with a Hiro Type 91 not so powerful and reliable as E7K2 variant. The nose of both versions are very distinguishable because the different engine. Around 183 units were built of E7K1 till 1938 when E7K2 variant was developed.

Kit includes decal sheet with 3 markings, including one unknown, Ashigara heavy cruiser (1938) and Okinoshima (1941).
