Description:

HA-1112M-1L Buchón
“The Movie Star”

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Hispano Aviación HA-1112 “Buchón”, a post war develop in Spain based on the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2.

In 1942 Spain purchased 25 Bf 109G-2, but only the airframes arrived, no engines, weapons or even tails. Spain self developed two variants, one based in the Hispano-Suiza, HS 17-12Z, with a 3 blades propeller and a second variant with a Rolls-Royce Merlin and a 4 blades propeller.

The 3 blades propeller variant also was used in some film, like Der Stern von Afrika (1957), and has been the favorite for some private owners restorations as Bf 109 as visually resembles much more the original Bf 109.

The late 4 blades variant, produced from 1954 remained in service till 1965 and although the new Merlin engine altered the original silhouette of the Bf-109 they appeared in air shows and films depicting the popular German fighter aircrafts.

One of the most popular films using HA-1112 as German Fighters is the Battle of Britain film of 1969, where “Buchones” not only played the role of the Bf 109, but also its counterpart as Hawker Hurricane. Kit includes decal sheet with 3 markings, 2 Germann and one British, all of them 4 blades propeller variant.
