AZ Model – AZ7883 – Spitfire Mk.18e “Asian Territory”

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British SuperMarine Spitfire fighter aircraft MK.18e (Mk.XVIII) variant, a refinement nearly identical to Mk.XIV that entered too late in service to see action during the WWII. Royal Indian Air Force acquired some ex-RAF Spitfire Mk.XVIII in 1947 and the kit offers one of the markings in decal sheet for this. The other two markings are for RAF markings deployed in Hong Kong and British Malaya, being this last one probably the only Mk.XVIIIs who saw action under RAF during the Malayan Emergency started in 1948 (though marking is dated 1947).

The kit is an inheritor of the AZ Model Spitfire Mk.XIV kit tooled in 2009, sharing parts with that line of kits.
