Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Fairchild AU-23 Peacemaker, an American armed gunship and counter-insurgency utility transport variant derived from the Pilatus PC-6 Porter, specifically developed for the United States Air Force. A total of 35 units were manufactured under license in the United States by Fairchild Industries for deployment during the early 1970s in the Vietnam War. Subsequently, all aircraft were transferred and sold to the Royal Thai Air Force.

This is kit is based on the Big Plane Kits, Big Plane Kits – 7211 – AU-23 Peacemaker, with a new decal sheet, PE parts has been re-done by Dora, though many parts looks very similar to the original PE from BPK and new resin parts. Include paint mask and decal sheet include two markings.

Interesting about one of the marking, Air America, established in 1946, Air America was an American passenger and cargo airline that operated covertly under the ownership and control of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 1950 to 1976. The airline played a crucial role in supplying and sustaining covert operations in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, which included its involvement in supporting drug smuggling activities in Laos.
