Eduard – 70164 – Bf 109G-10 WNF/Diana

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 fighter aircraft produced in the Wiener Neustädter Flugzeugwerke factory or the Czechoslovak Diana factory also from WNF , G-10 was a Bf 109G airframe combined with the new DB 605 D-2 engine (Intended for the K series) and despite the numbering it appeared into service after G-14 variant.

The most noticeable external change was the adoption of the three-panel Erla-Haube clear-view canopy. Most G-10s had small blister fairings on the lower engine cowlings in front of the exhaust stacks, except for Erla-built models, which had modified cowlings without these bulges. This difference became a key identifying feature of the production factory. Additionally, the traditional radio antenna mast on the rear fuselage was replaced with a ventral whip antenna under the wing.

This kit, released in 2025, is an inheritor of the Bf 109F and Bf 109G series of kits by Eduard started in 2023 with the release of Eduard – 2142 – WUNDERSCHÖNE NEUE MASCHINEN pt. 1 DUAL COMBO and widely released and updated since then, constituting probably the best available Messerschmitt Bf 109F and Messerschmitt Bf 109G kits, or at least into the best. The kits are highly detailed and accurate though their high number of parts, some of them very small and delicate, plus the presence of an interesting number of PE (photo-etched) parts make them not suitable for the very beginners, but its great engineering will make them enjoyable for those already initiated in the hobby.

This release include a decal sheet with 6 different markings, including one post war Czechoslovak marking and one Russian Liberation Army (ROA) Jasta 5 marking.
