F-8E Crusader
U.S. Navy/M.C. Carrier Borne Fighter

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a F-8E Crusader aircraft, a carrier based fighter aircraft. F-8 were the last of the U.S. fighters primary armed with guns instead of missiles. Served during Vietnam war.

Marking Options:

  • US Navy VF-162 “Hunters”
  • USMC VMF (AW)-312 “Checkerboards”
  • French Navy Flottille 12F (VF-12)

Tooled in 1979 this kit was a good option at the time though community reports problems fitting closed canopy as well as other accuracy problems which can bother to some. Academy kit (also reissued by Hobby 2000) is considered the best option to build a Crusader.
