Hasegawa – 02455 – Aichi E13A1 TYPE ZERO (JAKE) MODEL 11 “KIMIKAWAMARU” w/CATAPULT

Description:

Limited edition of Aichi E13A Hasegawa kit including launching catapult and a new decal sheet from the Japanese seaplane tender Kimikawa Maru (similar to kit Hasegawa – 02431 – Kawanishi E7K1 TYPE 94 MODEL 1 RECONNAISSANCE SEAPLANE “KAMIKAWAMARU” w/CATAPULT).

The Kimikawa Maru was able to operate six Aichi E13A “Jake” floatplanes. Operated in northern waters including the capture of Kiska and Attu Island. After conversion to transport in 1943 the ship operated in the Philippines and the Dutch East Indies being sunk on 23 October 1944 by USS Sawfish in the South China Sea north north west of Philippines.
