Hasegawa – 02474 – B-47E Stratojet “100th Bomber Wing” w/RATO

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Boeing B-47 Stratojet, a six engine turbo-jet strategic bomber introduced in the early 50s and retired from service in late 70s.

Variant of kit Hasegawa – 04057 (K7) – B-47E STRATOJET updated with new decal sheet and new parts for the RATO (rocket-assisted takeoff) device. The kit was originally tooled in 1968, is the first time since then that is updated with new parts. Hasegawa molds are the only in 1/72 scale injected plastic for this kind of aircraft, released also under brands like FROG, AMT-Hasegawa or Minicraft-Hasegawa.

The kit include 3D printed parts for the parts of the external RATO, a total of 33 auxiliary rockets arranged in 11 x 3 rows. Include decal sheet with two U.S. markings.

Though an interesting and a good kit, main parts of this release were tooled in the late 60s around 1968 which means different standards and way to do things. Still a recommendable set and an interesting subject.
