Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. North American F-86 Sabre fighter aircraft introduced in the very late 40s was the United States’ first swept-wing jet fighter. Almost 10000 units were build, also manufactured under licensed in Canada, Australia or Japan.

Japan acquired 180 F-86s in the late 50s, and build themselves another 300 (by Mitsubishi). JASDF called F-86F the “Kyokukō” (旭光, Rising Sunbeam) and F-86D the “Gekkō” (月光, Moon Light). F-86D was in fact a derived aircraft of the original F-86, with a larger fuselage, a larger afterburning engine, and a distinctive nose radome.

Hasegawa has been tooling the F-86D since 1996 but has been in 2023 when it got a standard catalogue number E49 and standard box layout.

Kit consists of 69 plastic parts and include decal sheet with 5 J.A.S.D.F. markings.
