Spitfire Mk.Ia “Three Blade Prop”

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British WWII Fighter Aircraft Mk.Ia. I was the first production version, produced from 1938. Series I had several modifications during its long production life. Initially there was no Ia or Ib, but once Mk Is started to be fitted with Hispano 20mm cannons (Ib) the initial production fitted with 8 Browning machine guns were renamed as Ia.

One of the many changes that MK Is had in its production life, was to change from a 2 wooden blades propeller from initial versions to a 3 aluminium blades propeller as the kit depicts. Markings included wear also the black & white scheme to difference friend from enemy aircraft from ground. All the markings are dated 1939.
