Description:

The Spitfire Mk VII (Type 351) was a high-altitude, pressurized variant designed to counter potential aerial threats at extreme altitudes. It was powered by either the Merlin 64 (F. Mk VII) or Merlin 71 (H.F. Mk VII) engine, both equipped with two-stage, two-speed superchargers for enhanced performance at high elevations.

To improve its high-altitude capabilities, the Mk VII featured extended, pointed wingtips fitted to the Type C wings, increasing the wingspan to 40 ft 2 in (12.2 m). However, as the anticipated threat from high-altitude bombers never fully materialized, many Mk VIIs were later modified to revert to the standard rounded wingtips for improved maneuverability at lower altitudes.

Kit originally comes from an AZ Model tooled in 2012 and updated several times by both brands during this time. The kit include a decal sheet with three British RAF markings, dated 1944 and showing both pointed wingtips or standard Type C wings.
