Hawker Fury 1

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British 30s Hawker Fury biplane fighter aircraft introduced in 1931. It was an agile and fast aircraft of its time, produced in around 250 units served mostly with RAF, Iran (Persia), Yugoslavia, South Africa and three of them in the Spanish Civil War.

Despite being totally obsolete at the WWII the Furys saw action in Yugoslav hands as well as in South African hands. The Yugoslav Furys suffered heavy losses against the more powerful German fighter while South African ones enjoyed some success in East Africa against Italian forces destroying a number of targets mainly caught on the ground.

Original Matchbox kit tooled in 1972 which was kept in Matchbox catalogue almost during all brand life. It used two different box arts, the second one introduced in the 1982 release. Content and decal sheet never changed through the years.

Decal sheet included two markings, one RAF and one for the Royal Yugoslav Air Force.

Kit was later released under Revell brand in year 2010 with code number 04693 and a new decal sheet.
