Walrus Mk-1

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British 30s and WWII Supermarine Walrus amphibious biplane aircraft, a single engine reconnaissance aircraft designed to be launch by catapult from Cruisers but largely used in other roles such maritime patrol or rescue and produced in over 700 units from 1936 to 1944. Mk.I variant featured a full metal hull.

Matchbox tooled this kit in 1973, and during all its life kept the same content and same box art, though with box layout changes. Released till 1992 also was released under Revell brand in 2006 and 2009, with code numbers 04391 and 64391 (Model set).

Matchbox kit offered a decal sheet with two Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm (RNFAA) markings, dated 1938 and 1944.

Together with Airfix and Valom kits, remains as one of the few options to build this important aircraft in 1/72 scale.
