Fairey Swordfish

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British WWII biplane torpedo bomber Fairey Swordfish, introduced in 1936 and remaining in service till the end of the war, technically outphased its performance kept it in service through the war and was produced in over 2300 units, sank more axis tonnage than any other allied aircraft and even was involved in the events that ended with the Bismarck demise.

An original Matchbox kit tooled in 1974. Till 1979 it was released with the same box art as base for the different box layouts, in the 1983 re-release a new box art was introduced, also used in 1992. Later in 1998 the kit got new box art, box layout, new decals and new code number as Matchbox – 40120 – Fairey Swordfish II/III.

During its life this kit kept a decal sheet with two RAF markings, one dated 1940 and the other 1945.
