Hawker Tempest

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British WWII Hawker Tempest fighter aircraft, introduced in the late war, 1944, ended as the fastest propeller aircraft of the war at low altitude and one of the more powerful fighters. Despite the quick develop of the jet aircrafts after the war Tempest remained in service till 1953.

Matchbox tooled this kit in the year 1974 and is one of the most stable kits in their line. Released till 1992 at least 5 or 6 times more only had one box art change in 1983, a little change but based in the same box art, and in 1992 introduced the 40023 code number as part of the change in code numbers of all the company line.

Kit always kept the same decal sheet during its life, with two markings, one RAF WWII and one Indian Air Force.

The kit only was released by other brand under the AMT-Matchbox line in the late 70s.
