The Dassault Mirage G8.01 was a prototype variable-sweep wing fighter developed in France during the late 1960s as part of an effort to create a multi-role combat aircraft with high-speed performance and adaptability. It was an evolution of the Mirage G, Dassault’s first swing-wing aircraft, and was designed to provide enhanced maneuverability at different speeds, allowing both high-speed interception and slower, more controlled landings.

The Mirage G8.01 was powered by two SNECMA Atar 9K-50 afterburning turbojet engines, giving it a top speed of over Mach 2. It featured twin vertical stabilizers, an unusual design choice for Dassault at the time, and was intended to fulfill both fighter and strike roles. The prototype first flew on May 8, 1971, demonstrating promising performance, but the program was ultimately canceled as France shifted focus toward the more cost-effective Dassault Mirage 2000. Despite its cancellation, the Mirage G8.01 contributed valuable data on variable-sweep wing technology, influencing later European aircraft designs.

Kit consists of over 200 parts with a large number of PE (photo-etched) parts. Include decal sheet with one single marking and pre-cut self adhesive paint mask.
