DFS 230 “Unternehmen Eiche”

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII troop glider, DFS 230, which could carry 9 men. Initially used in its deigned role, took part in significant actions such Fort Eben-Emael, the Battle of Crete, or in the rescue of Benito Mussolini, but it also widely used in resupply operations for encircled troops, something that happened more and more by the end of the war, being even used for supply operations in Berlin itself.

Production ceased in 1943, after over 1600 units built, but it continued in use all the war.

Kit is a re-issue of RS Models – 92172 – DFS 230 “Unternehmen Eiche” with a new decal sheet. The decal sheet contains markings for:

1. DFS 230 C, “Unternehmen Eiche”, Grand Sasso, Italy 1943 (This is a marking for the Mussolini rescue operation, was also present in the original release)
2. DFS 230 C, Luftwaffe, Banak, Norway 1943. New marking.
3. DFS 230 C, Luftwaffe, Ottana, Sardinie, Italy 1943. New marking.

Kit includes PE detail parts.
