“Operation Varsity”

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Curtiss C-46 Commando military transport aircraft.

D Commando variant was an specific personnel and paratroops transport variant with one extra door in the port side. Over 1600 units of this variant were build.

Kit includes PE and resin parts (engines) and decal sheet with two specific markings for the “Operation Varsity”, and Allied airborne assault in late March 1945, which secured bridges over the northern Rhine river and allowed Allies to enter northern Germany. The operation is till date the largest airborne operation performed in a single day and despite casualties is considered a success.
