Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet WWII fighter aircraft Yakovlev Yak-1, produced in over 8000 units and introduced in 1940. Production ran till 1944, over 13000 changes were done over blueprints in the next two years after introduction, this together with the lack of materials caused almost every Yak-1 to be different in something, with materials cannibalized from other aircrafts often even each landing gear with different lengths and so a different angle to the fuselage.

Despite the problems and usually facing superior enemies the Yakovlev Yak-1 was a highly maneuverable aircraft and Yakovlev Yak-1B variant introduced in 1942 was comparable to the German Bf 109F-4 and Bf 109G-2.
