Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Dutch ship (Yacht) originally build in 1746, the Utrecht estatal Yacht (Statenjacht), the Statenjacht Utrecht. At the time this Yacht was used by representatives of the United East India Company (VOC).

Luxury yachts have a rich history dating back to ancient times, with Dutch craftsmanship particularly excelling in this field since the 16th century. Dutch yachts of that era set the standard for opulent representative ships, influencing the design preferences of nations worldwide. The construction of these luxurious vessels was fueled by the immense wealth generated from maritime trade during the heyday of the Republic of the Seven Provinces of the United Netherlands (1581-1795). Beyond serving wealthy merchants, these opulent ships were instrumental in transporting high-ranking officials, officers, and business representatives to official meetings and ceremonies.

These yachts were meticulously designed for cruising along rivers, estuaries, or near coastal waters. With hull lengths ranging from 15 to 21 meters, these stately vessels, known as Statnyachts, boasted rich decorations tailored to the preferences of their owners. They were equipped with all the luxuries necessary for a comfortable cruising experience, featuring well-appointed accommodations with plush beds, fully equipped kitchens, dining facilities, and heating systems. The Dutch Statnyachts epitomized a harmonious blend of elegance and functionality, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of maritime luxury.

The Statenjacht Utrecht has been historically reconstructed between 1998 and 2003 as part of an special formation and employment project from the city of Utrecht, following traditional ways to construct the ship as well as materials employed during the XVIII century.

HiSModel recreates with a nice detail this ship in 1/72 scale, mainly a plastic kit, but including also PE (photo-etched) parts, resin cast parts (for all the nice decorations of the ship) as well as ropes, fabric sails and wooden parts for the rig of the ship. Just seeing the package and content you know the kit has been tooled by really enthusiasts of the hobby, as HiSModel is, a Czech store only selling ships scale model kits.

Kit consists of around 132 plastic parts, 152 PE parts and 26 resin parts, plus the ropes, nails and rigging. Kit is appropriate for an intermediate-advanced modeler.
