HMS Hood 15″/42 Mk1 Gun Turret B

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale depicting one of the 15-inch guns turrets of the HMS Hood, an Admiral-class battlecruiser of the Royal Navy, commissioned in 1920, and remained the largest warship in the world for 20 years.

With its unmistakable silhouette and powerful armament, the Hood became the pride of the Royal Navy. Its imposing profile featured a distinctive arrangement of turrets, showcasing the ship’s main battery of eight 15-inch guns. This formidable armament underscored the Hood’s role as a key player in naval deterrence and strategic influence.

The Hood’s operational history included service in various theaters, cementing its status as a capital ship of great significance. However, tragically, during the early stages of World War II, the Hood met its fate in the Battle of the Denmark Strait in 1941, succumbing to enemy fire (in battle with the German battleship Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen).

Takom kit is pretty straight, there aren’t PE detail parts nor decal sheet as the guns wear no markings. The kit built into an impressive 32cm length model including the guns barrels.
