Mörser KARL-Gerät 040/041 Initial Version

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII self-propelled siege heavy mortar Karl-Gerät or Mörser Karl. In total 7 units were built, 6 saw combat the 7th was used for testings. Entered in service from Nov 1940 to August 1941.

040 wass the original (initial) short 600mm (24 inches) calibre barrel, while 041 later model, had a long (L/11.55) 540mm (21 inches) calibre barrel. Kit provides optional parts to build any of them. The 54cm guns were not available for all the KARL-Gerät, only number I, IV and V were converted to use both barrels. For the Battle of the Bulge number IV was deployed and used with the 54cm gun and we can’t confirm that I and V weared the 54cm ever.

Kit consists of 196 plastic parts. Tracks are single piece vinyl ones. Decal sheet includes 2 markings for the two first KARL-Gerät delivered, Adam (I) and Eva (II).
