Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of an Italian Cannone da 105/28.

The Cannone da 105/28 was a field artillery piece used by the Italian Royal Army (Regio Esercito) during both World Wars. Originally derived from the French Canon de 105 mle 1913 Schneider, it was adopted by Italy as the Cannone da 105/28 Modello 1913. This gun served in various theaters, including North Africa, Greece, and the Eastern Front. Post-World War II, it continued to equip some units of the Italian Army’s field artillery. The Cannone da 105/28 was also deployed during the Spanish Civil War.

The gun was paired with a “carrello elastico” (elastic carriage) trailer. This specialized trailer functioned as a limber, facilitating the towing of the artillery piece by vehicles. The design allowed for quicker deployment and repositioning, which was crucial for artillery operations. This carriage was developed after World War I.

Straight kit with only plastic parts, no decals included. The gun can be build either in fire or transport mode. Kit consists of around 67 plastic parts plus some ammo shells. It’s a high number of parts for a single gun model with several quite delicate parts. As many other WWI guns, the wheels and carriage were sightly updated during 30s and WWII, but the kit shows early wheels type not suitable for WWII.
