Armory – AR72444 – ZSU-23-4M “Shilka” mod.1973

Update of kit Armory – 72443 – ZSU-23-4V1 Shilka mod.1970 with new/different parts and new decal sheet.

Kit allows to build up 3 different variants of the “Shilka“, 4M (4M1), 4M3 and 4M2. 4M was a modernized variant (1973)  armed with modernized autocannons 2A7M. The pneumatic loading was replaced with pyrotechnic loading (unreliable compressor was removed), welded tubes of coolant outlet were replaced with flexible pipes which increased autocannon barrel life from 3500 rounds to 4500 rounds. 4M3 version added IFF (Identification friend or foe) system. 4M2 was an Afghan War modification, were the “Shilka” were used in direct fire against ground targets, the radar system was removed and a night-sight was added.

Decal sheet include 9 different markings, including Lebanese (1989) and Al-Mourabitoun (Lebanese / Beirut, 1982), Syrian (Yon Kippur 1973), German Democratic Republic, one Ukrainian marking (2016) and of course Soviet, with a couple of Afghanistan suitable markings.
