This specific variant was built on the chassis of the ZIL-130, a durable and widely used Soviet medium-duty truck.

The AC-40(130)-63B featured a large water tank, typically around 2,400 liters, and was equipped with a high-capacity fire pump system for use in both urban and industrial firefighting.
