M901 Hammer Head

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. M901, a variant of the M113 APC fitted with a launcher armed with two TOW anti-tank missiles.

This kit is a variation of kit  ESCI – 8305 – M113 A1 APC, initially released under ESCI brand, the last year of ESCI as brand, 1987, before become ESCI-Ertl. Though the change to link-and-length tracks has been also credited to ESCI-Ertl, the M113 series which includes this kit was initially released by ESCI, but with link-and-length tracks.

This variant shares the problems about wheels, tracks and interior detail of the parent kit, but in opposition to the  ESCI – 8304 – M163 Antiaircraft vehicle variant, the new parts for the TOW launcher are not so simplified and usable, giving a plus to the original release. Despite of this, which is our opinion, this version never has been released by Italeri, though the Vulcan has been.
