In 1976 after the successful ESCI – 8355 – 8007 – LKW 3 Tons Opel Blitz Truck (LKW. 3t Opel Blitz) and ESCI – 8342 – 8035 – Opel Ambulance (Opel 3,6 Ambulance) releases ESCI saw the opportunity of put in the mix the FlaK developed as part of ESCI – 8020 – German Anti-Tank Gun kit.

Sadly, for all of us, except when we were kids in the 70s or 80s, there is no evidence of such mount never happened in history, a quadruple FlaK 36 over an Opel Blitz truck. There are evidences of single 20mm AA guns mounted in the Blitz, but no one has seen a Quad ones ever.

Maybe because this historical fail, both Hasegawa and Aurora didn’t release this kit, but Revell and Polstil still did. Italeri also never release this variant.

There is a single picture as far as we know, of a Quad Flak 38, Flakvierling 38, without the shield, mounted in a 4×4 Opel Blitz, with the sides of the cargo bay cutted to half to allow the gun rotation and traverse, but not opened as this kit pretends. All the pictures of the single FlaK 38 mount, show the walls of the cargo bay just removed.
